September Siúil Walking Weekend

Hiking Ireland….

Our September Siúil Series is back for 2021

Discover your Wild Side and reach a Natural High by exploring the West of Ireland with us. This is a great way to experience the real wild-west and free your wandering spirit in Ireland’s hills.

We have three days of walking in Achill Island and the Nephin Beg Mountains to give your head peace and enjoy wide open space.
Friday 3rd September – Achill Island. Distance 9km, ascent approx 400m
Saturday 4th September – Achill Island. Distance 7km Ascent 600m
Sunday 5th September – Nephin Beg range. Distance 11.5km ascent approx 550m.

Perched on the Western edge of Europe, Achill Island is one of the most ruggedly beautiful and scenic areas in the country. With it’s dramatic mixture of mountains and beautiful Blue Flag beaches, it is easy to see why. From the shore to the mountain tops, Achill has captured the imagination of so many over the years.

The Nephin Beg mountains are known as the most remote in the country. Overlooking Clew Bay islands to the south and Wild Nephin National Park to the north, these vast mountains are a walkers paradise. Our route keeps Clew Bay in sight but enjoys a diverse landscape and mixed terrain from forest track to upland heath/bog. Ascent approx 550m.

Walks range from 4-6 hours (plus stops) in duration and are aimed at those with average/moderate fitness who would not ordinarily venture off-trail. Please note some sections will be on challenging and sometimes steep terrain.
